Pysanky Workshop with Flame Tip Studio - Wed., Mar. 18th

$60.00 USD

Wed., 3/18 @ 11:00am to 1:30pm

Pysanky is traditionally associated with spring; a season when ancient peoples celebrated and honored the sun and life force through mystical and magical rites. These decorated eggs remain sacred objects and benevolent talismans today--true weapons of peace--that unite people in the shared pursuit of beauty, hope, and shared humanity.

A thoughtfully-facilitated Pysanky Workshop led by Jenny Santa Maria of Flame Tip Studio centered around family history, cultural resilience, and the preservation of tradition. First-timers will leave, not only with a precious heirloom in their hands, but with a deeper understanding of the history, the culture, the art—and themselves.

N/A beverages will be served.

$60/person.

Guests can expect to take home at least one hand-decorated egg. Final design project may vary from photo shown.

Jenny is a Teaching Artist of many media and several folk art traditions including pysanky, embroidery, observational drawing, watercolor pencil and watercolor painting, sewing and creative mending.

She draws on her background in special education to serve what she sees as the most underserved population in the arts—the general public. As a teacher and coach, Jenny champions the arts and the authentic, creative voice of every participant in settings like libraries, schools, retreats, team settings, and community spaces. This work aims to demystify the creative process and makes it as accessible as possible. Alongside measurable skill-building, cultivating presence and the undeniable pleasure of making something meaningful together are naturally part of the process of learning. Every participant leaves these workshops with new skills and so much more; a renewed sense of possibility—a growth mindset, a can-do attitude, and the confidence to continue exploring their creativity in ways that feel enjoyable and sustaining long after the workshop ends.

The ultimate aim of Flame Tip Studio is to help the arts move beyond the workshop and into daily life; to ignite the spirit and spark a lasting relationship with the arts.
