Our Design Ethos
Our Design Ethos
The process of finding a design partner for a wedding is as much about learning about you, as it is learning about us. That's why we spend a considerable about of time getting to know our couples, and sharing a bit about us as well. These things are holistic, and not meant to be taken lightly.
Our team deep dives into nailing down the smallest details during our intensive design process by unearthing inspiration from our library of reference books, favorite Pantone color chip combinations, collection of interesting vessels, vintage ribbons and so on.
Working closely with our local farmers and carefully-selected domestic and international growers, we pride ourselves in choosing a botanical line-up that’s breathtaking, seasonal and absolutely matched for your event.

Brave Floral's Full Service Wedding Process

Inquiry + Proposal
Once you reach out via our inquiry form, we'll schedule a consultation phone call. Let's chat about your venue and your vision - no detail is too small and we love to hear about what's most important to you both for your big day. Then from that conversation we'll translate your vision into an initial proposal and bring your ideas to life.
After you have a chance to review the initial design proposal, we will set up a review call to walk thru each element, contract details, and address any questions you might have.
Planning + Production
Once we have a contract and signed depost, we will continue to conceptualize a full event design plan, building off of the initial proposal elements, that is entirely custom for the event day. This option includes the selection and coordination of decorative items such as floral design and any needed rentals (furniture, plants, linens, table settings, candlelight, and lighting), along with a detailed event design plan. As part of the planning and production process, we can schedule an on-site venue walkthrough
Day of Implementation
it's time for everything to come togehter! You can expect our team to arrive to your venue with ample time to execute your wedding floral production plan - flowers, clippers, and design plan in hand! We'll delivery your personal flowers like special bouquets or boutineres where you're getting ready so you can enjoy the day.
In order to provide a seamless experience for you and your family, we do a waste conscious “tear down” all items related to the floral décor the same evening or the following morning.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you share the full design and production plan after the initial consultation?
We require a deposit be paid & agreement be signed before proceeding with any of the full design and production steps. Our intial proposal should be comprehensive to provide example visual references, a color story, and the design direction for your event.
We spend hours upon hours carefully crafting each full design plan for each of our clients, researching the venue spaces, and planning how we can bring unique design elements togther through each part of the day. Therefore, in the Inquiry + Proposal phase, and prior to an Agreement being signed, we share only an proposed design direction. Once an agreement is signed, we share full budget breakdowns, followed by the extensive design guide in the months leading up to the event date.
What is included in your estimates?
Our estimates are typically broken down by botanical items, hard goods & production labor/staffing. Executing your day without a hitch means we need good, solid (wo)manpower to do it. We hire hard-working, detail-oriented people, and pay them competitively. You can expect that production and staffing costs account for 30% of your budget with us for full service and event design.
How does the booking and payment process work?
After our initial proposal is confirmed and you're ready to move forward, we'll send over an agreement and an invoice for a 25% deposit to secure your date in our books. A second 25% payment is due twelve (12) weeks before the wedding date, and then the remaining balance due three (3) weeks prior to the event.
How many weddings does Brave Floral take on?
Very rarely do we take on more than one (1) wedding per weekend. We can promise you that your wedding is of utmost priority to our team, and we schedule accordingly to reflect that.
What geographical areas for you service for weddings and events?
Our retail flower shop is based in Maplewood, NJ which is centrally located for our creative team to frequently service weddings in and between New Jersey, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Hudson Valley, Bucks County and Philadelphia. From cityscape backgrounds, quaint cabins with fall foliage, industrial warehouses, or historic buildings, we design our floral elements to match your ceremony, venue, and vision.
Do you have any options if my budget doesn't meet the full service design minimum?
