Tradescantia Zebrina is a type of spiderwort plant that’s become a must-have for plant lovers. Purple and silverly gree stripes pattern its lush leaves on upright stems. Under the right conditions, it can grow as a long trailing ivy, and you’ll even find small white and yellow flowers emerging from its pink buds during the growing season. Details
  • Place in a bright spot with indirect, natural light, such as near a window. Avoid direct sunlight, but you can slowly introduce the plant to it and check for signs of too much light. Red and patterned varieties need more light than green varieties.
  • Water when about half the soil has dried out, usually every 7-10 days, and more frequently in brighter light or during the summer. You can use a moisture meter to help avoid overwatering. Don't let the soil dry out completely, as this can cause wilting and leaf drop.
  • Some varieties are mildly toxic if ingested.
