Ficus lyrata, commonly known as the fiddle-leaf fig, is a species of flowering plant in the mulberry and fig family Moraceae. It is native to western Africa, where it grows in lowland tropical rainforest. The leaves are variable in shape, but often with a broad apex and narrow middle, resembling a lyre or fiddle.
These plants are notoriously difficult to care for indoors, but the effort is worth the reward with stunning big leaves and branches that fill any large space.
Fiddles will have an adjustment period in which they may lose a considerable amount of leaves. Try to put your plant in a very bright room or sunny south facing window, away from any heat/AC vents. Water when soil feels dry to the touch.
