Floral Processor
Availability: Open to part-time applicants. Part-time applicants should be available to work 2-3 days per week from 8am-12pm during the Tuesday-Friday workweek.
Job Description
You’re a quick and and efficient and don’t mind repetitive tasks as long as you have a good podcast or great playlist going. Our floral processors assist the floral designers prepare for a day of designing flower arrangements for shop orders or special events. We work with local flower farms to source the freshest blooms and stems. Upon receiving fresh inventory, our floral processor assists with cutting, trimming, hydrating and organizing stems so each stem is flaunting its best self when becoming a part of a signature bouquet or arrangement for our customers. Please note, this is not a pathway to becoming a floral designer, but a great entry-level position if you’ve always found flowers and design intriguing.

Job Functions
- Floral Care (75%)
- Process large amounts of incoming flowers by cutting, trimming, hydrating, treating them prior to proper storage
- Review and inspect incoming fresh flowers and greenery for quality and freshness
- Organize flower inventory by type and color to prepare our floral designers for order or event
- Verify inventory and stem counts on product received vs expected/ordered product
- Count and prepare vessels for events
- Routinely care for and maintain foliage and blooming plants
- Assist with preparing and maintain clean workspaces for floral designers
- Prepare order slips for floral designers and team to maximize efficiency during order creation
- Learn names and care for different flowers and greenery
- Shop Upkeep (25%)
- Cleaning and organizing shop space to ensure tidy appearance at all times, including floral coolers and designer workspaces
- Sanitizing of floral buckets, vessels, and misc. tools used in the shop on a daily basis
- Manage the fresh flower bar
- Breaking down of boxes, removal of rubbish and compost
- Performing routine cleaning throughout shop
Experience
- Must have an aptitude for fresh flowers
- Flower or plant retail shop experience a plus
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must have reliable transportation
- Flexible weekly schedule
- Must be able to stand for up to 5 hours per day
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Must be able to work well under pressure managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to perform daily tasks
- High school diploma or higher
- Proficient in English reading & writing
