Meet the Fiddly Ficus Fig Family

You might know the Ficus tree from stunning Architectural Digest shoots, with large bold plants reaching towards skylights, but the ficus family trees are harder to care for than photos make it seem...

Ficus trees are known for their large impressive leaves, tall growth and stunning spreading branches.

But as the names can suggest, these plants are fiddly and finnicky! They require as bright light as you can possibly give them, and are best suited in a south facing window. Avoid any and all vents, both AC and heating. Water, but don't overwater. Oh, and don't move them around the cabin, pick a perfect place and leave them there!

However once they hit their stride, these plants grow impressive and rewarding greenery displays for your home.
